DIY'ing has become very popular. Blame it on the recession, give credit to our ingenuity, or say it's in our nature... either way, I'm pretty pleased! Mainly, because it's become a big deal in the bridal world...
As a current "bride to be", I'm looking for nifty ways to cut costs and make it my own. One such way it creating my own veil or headpiece. Since I'm already into making great hair accessories and clips, I thought this would be a natural place to us my DIY creativeness. While I was shopping at M&J Trim the other day, I stumbled on some gorgeous beaded appliques and pre-made feather patches. What a snap it would be to hot glue these onto a hair comb! And, for a retro addition, add in some Russian netting to create a one of a kind birdcage veil. Hurray!
The best part- this fancy beaded fan patch (it looks much more glamourous in person) is under $8.00, the feathers are about $6.00 and hair combs and hot glue are already floating around my house. Woohoo!
