Hi again! Phew! What a couple of weeks it has been. With Summer finally here, the weather has been quite cranky: hot, humid, stormy, sunny...you name it! And though I've been a busy girl (wedding planning + working!), I wanted to share a new Weekly Outfit! Let's be honest here, it hasn't exactly been every week... but you get it.
Not only have I been busy planning my own wedding, but I've also been busy planning to attend other people's weddings! This summer alone, my fiance and I are attending one wedding a month. We even had to turn down an invite to one because I couldn't get off two weekends in a row :( Sad. And one of the pressures of attending weddings, is finding the perfect dress for the certain type of wedding. And alas, I'm not the only one stressing. A dear friend is getting married in Atlanta over the 4th of July weekend, and a bunch of us girls are all debating what to wear. We are all swapping photos, and even borrowing dresses from one another. One of my best friends is struggling with accessorizing a great blue dress, so I thought I'd help her out. Maybe you can get some ideas, too!
This outfit starts with a great Ann Taylor LOFT dress with a simple shape and small ruffle detail around the neck. Unfortunately this dress is no longer available for purchase, but you can use it as an idea. She has worn it in the past with pearl jewelry and owns white shoes similar to the pair below. I thought I'd jazz it up just a touch more with long pearl strands, and blue and white cameo earrings. Very elegant and sweet, plus the touch of gold is quite nice. To keep things from getting too precious, this woven quilted bag was an easy addition. Still ladylike, but not boring. Plus, it's big enough to stow away some flip flops for late night wedding dancing.

Next, I tweaked the neutral color in the outfit. Instead of white and pearls, I used gold. These delicate gold and blue accessories can be worn again and again. Mix and match to create our own style.

Next, I went a little darker with bronze instead of gold. I also added a more bohemian vibe with bolder prints and more intricate jewelry.

Finally, I departed from the warm golden tones and blue all together. First, silver and purple are a fine mate for this blue dress. I kept all of the jewelry in a similar style. Then, I scrapped the purple and went more earthy with warm greens and golds for a more grounded vibe.
